Dear Members and Friends of St. John in the Wilderness (bulletin is attached),

This Sunday September 12, a celebration of the Eucharist in the church is planned for 10 AM.

There will be hand sanitizing and bulletins to pick up.

A SPECIAL COFFEE HOUR is planned to honor Mibs and Fr. Walt Zelley and wish them well as they transition to their new winter home near Atlanta, GA.

If vaccinated, masks are optional. Please wear a mask if not vaccinated. This remains SJITW's policy, as Columbia County "is not instituting a mask mandate at this point."  However the Columbia County Department of Health has been recording increases in the covid rate and reports the county is at high enough risk for transmission to recommend masks be worn indoors (whether one is vaccinated or not) in public places (based on current CDC guidelines).

Having consulted medical personnel  in the community, we’re now asking everyone coming up for communion to wear a mask and socially distance up to and back from communion and to consume communion at your seat. Extra masks will be available.

To view 10am Sunday service on Facebook live (when there is staffing), here’s the link:

Please email me any new prayer requests for Prayers of the People (also any removals).

Hope to see you Sunday mornings at 10 am in person or on Facebook live (when there is staffing)!

We plan to have on hand extra masks and hand sanitizer. We are planning for social distancing, sanitizing and general safety.

Thank you,

The Rev. John P. Thompson
