Good Causes Supported by St. John's

Thanksgiving and Christmas Baskets-- Churches in the community donate funds to create holiday baskets for those in need.

Christmas Friends (providing Christmas gifts for local children, sponsored by ECW).

Shoe Box Ministry (providing Christmas gifts for children worldwide with leadership from ECW)

Roe-Jan Food Pantry -- food and monetary donations to the Roe-Jan Food Pantry, the community food pantry for those in need.

United Thank Offering -- monetary donations to United Thank Offering, the Episcopal ministry which funds charities worldwide (sponsored by ECW).

Episcopal Relief and Development -- a premiere relief and development organization, an international ministry of the Episcopal Church.

WIC (Women, Infants & Children) -- St. John's helps out twice a year by providing soup during WIC days at neighboring Our Lady of Hope church.  WIC is a federally funded health and nutrition program for women, infants and children.

Taconic Hills Back Pack Program -- monetary donations which supplies food for needy children in the Taconic Hills school district for their weekend meals.

Churches Assisting Neighbors -- (C.A.N.) St. John's participates in activities and funding for the local ecumenical group which funds emergency funds for those in need in the immediate community.

Church members volunteer at community organizations including Community Hospice, Friends of Taconic State Park, VITA Program of Columbia Opportunities in Hudson, Roe-Jan Community Library, Roe-Jan Historical Society, Copake Day, and Copake Falls Day.

St. John's hosts 12-step meetings, like Alcoholics Anonymous, twice a week.
